将产品制造工艺过程的各项内容和要求按照一定的程序进行编制，以文件和标准的形式固定下来，就形成了工艺文件。工艺文件可以分为两种：一是综合型工艺文件，即将一个产品的所有要求统一编制在一个文件中，简单明了，便于查询，适用于产品结构简单、生产批量小的场合。二是分类型工艺文件，即根据产品制造技术的专业特点分类编制，突出专业特点，适用于各类产品。
